Social Leadership at Ulpenat Tzvia Kokhav Yaakov

At Ulpenat Tzvia Kokhav Yaakov, we believe that meaningful leadership is not measured only by the ability to guide others. It also requires the ability to listen carefully, recognize the needs of the people around us, and act with a genuine sense of responsibility.

Our social leadership program gives students an opportunity to take an active role in shaping the supportive, attentive, and values-driven atmosphere of the school.

Leadership begins in the classroom

Two students are selected from each class by their homeroom teacher. The selected students participate in a dedicated training seminar that prepares them for this important role and provides practical tools for navigating a wide range of social situations.

The seminar addresses topics such as peer pressure, group cohesion, acceptance of others, cooperation, active listening, social risks, and the importance of taking initiative for the benefit of the community.

"True leadership begins with the ability to listen, identify a need, and take responsibility for the people around us."

A consistent presence for classmates

The role of the social leadership students is not limited to a single activity. Throughout the school year, they remain actively involved in school life and serve as an accessible and attentive point of contact for their classmates.

They also lead workshops on relevant social topics at meaningful moments during the year, including the periods leading up to Purim and the summer vacation. These activities create opportunities for open conversations, strengthen a sense of belonging, and encourage personal responsibility.

The program is guided by the school counselor and reflects a central principle of our educational approach: academic learning should be accompanied by personal growth, empathy, and the ability to make a positive difference.
